Hello everyone hope you are all well, I was just after a little help in understanding a reading.

I brought an ispinel the other day calibrated it the long way lol and popped it into my mad dog America red ale, the information it gives is very good and im very impressed with what it can tell you.

This won't replace my old school hydrometer I'll always check the gravity before during and at the end as I enjoy that process and is the most accurate way for me to get the abv rating.

So back to my question, very new to this btw so please excuse me if this is a stupid question lol, because I put the ispindel in a batch that was already on its way fermentating I had to enter my starting gravity reading so the rest of the batches readings fall in line correctly

One of the readings is ATTN my brew is sitting at 77.59 ATTN but im unsure if this is something I should be reading if I can use the data to improve my brew this time or the next time I brew this beer.

Should it be high low etc can anyone please help a newbie and if this has been asked before then I do apologise in advance

Kind regards Dave

I'm assuming it'll stand for attenuation, a measure of how much of the available sugar the yeast has used. Each specific yeast will have an expected attenuation range, so you could use this to tell you if the yeast has done what it should. However I wouldn't worry about it, just see when the gravity stabilises and if it is below around 1015 you are all good.

Big thanks, I believe its sitting at 1.0127 (1.013) so I'll hydrometer it tomorrow and if all is good add dry hops in for a couple of days before bottling

Thanks for the information 👍
