im in the process of making my coopers draught kit and i used 'coopers brew enhancer 1', which is 1 kg, instead of sugar, I have ordered the cerveza kit which should be delivered tomorrow, let us know how it goes mate

ok. i have used sugar instead of the brew enhancer. although is does say to use coopers brew enhancer '2'

mine has been going for 3 days now and still bubbling away.

let me know how you get on.

hi grahamm, my coopers cerveza is on the go now, got the stuff delivered this morning and made it up when I got in from work, I used the 'enhancer 2' that I mentioned so we'll see how it goes! gd luck with it. I felt alot more confident making up my 2nd kit, sg reading of about 1050, could just about read it through the froth!

To give it some taste

The urban legend is that it's to keep the flies out, but from my own research that seems like a load of old poppycock. It's rarely seen out of the tourist traps.

Protz had a good bit on it in his semi-autobiography "A Life on the Hop", but I take most things he says with a trailer load of salt.

******************************************

started it on the 19th. today (22nd) its still got the odd bubble floating to the top so will put it in the barrel on sunday25th and add the priming sugar if all looks well.

this is my first brew so its a trial and error effort.

but maybe i will get lucky and it will turn out nice.

keep me posted on how you get on with yours

another question i have asked in a seperate post but i'll do so hear as well is about what keg to get.

i have read a few posts and they have indicated that for largers the kegs aren't ideal as they can't hold the pressure.

is this right?? if so then what options are there available other than bottles??

thanks, i actually like the look of it.

do you have to buy a tap for it seperate??

with a corny do you still need to prime your beer with sugar or just give it a quick blast with the co2 bottle?

You will need a seperate tap and CO2 bottle but Norman can supply everything you need. The Idea is to force carbonate the beer with co2 so no need to prime thus eliminating sediment. Ive got 2 and im loving them. Cant wait till i pick up my fridge to turn into a Kegerater on Saturday :thumb:
