Hi all,

Just brewed my first beer and have hit my first problem at the conditioning stage. I sterilised the keg with sodium met. then rinsed it out. I added 40g of granulated sugar then transferred 20l in to condition. A week later there is no gas being produced, does anyone know if I can recover the beer condition? Cheers, Dace

20 litres of beer = say 40 bottles

40gm of priming sugar added = 1 gm per bottle....

Normal priming sugar ratio = 3-5gms per bottle.......er after priming with the sugar you should bottle not put into another fermenting vessel in bulk...

I wasn't planning to bottle it just keep it in the keg. Do you think it just meeds more sugar? I thought there would have been some gas produced by now.

I think its around 150g of priming sugar you should have put in,or same for spray malt which is even better.

Hi by the way,im Pete and this is my first brew making for 20 years,ive started a "Better Brew Irish Stout" kit as recommended by my local brew shop and im on day 10 of the process,I have the "Better Brew IPA" waiting to be made once this is ready,the "Better Brew" varieties have had a good write up and are fairly new to the market but come highly recommended and will let you know once i get my first taste in a couple of weeks...Happy Brewing Guys :drink:
