Hello All,

I have been homebrewing wine and beer for a few years now. I started off on kits and now onto grain brewing which I really enjoy. I have an allotment which reguarly produces gluts of fruit for wine, veg for food and lots and lots of slugs! (for which I haven't found a booze-based product yet).

Spent yesterday brewing with citra using my own recipe and thought I would join to share information, recipes, gain advice and generally blether about how homebrewing is the best hobby ever!

Hi and welcome Sarah, drinking a Citra based beer myself at the moment.

As a forum we organise an annual meet, the spring thing, if you are interested click on the link at the top of the page and register for the news letter.

welcome Sarah you sound confident and experienced enough to assist us lesser mortals. My AG cherry is about to be popped next week.

At least any bad beer will help you catch the slugs

Thanks for the warm welcome!

Whilst I have made a few beers in my time, every brew is different and I still have to glean a lot of help from the owners of Glen Brew supplies in Glasgow! I still have a lot to learn...

Your having a go that's all that matters..there's loads of info on the forum. When you have time read some of the old posts on brewing. It's all in there somewhere... :hmm:

Hello Sarah! It's good to see other women in here – we need to keep an eye on what all these men are up to ;)

There's certainly been a rich harvest of slugs this year. In my retirement I'm working part-time in a market garden and we've been despairing of the little buggers. They like beer though, so you can put jars of slops out and drown the scrotes.
