I have to confess I missed this forum when I joined at the beginning of December but its never too late.
I have been brewing with my son for about three years with surprising success.
I had a go at brewing back in my youth (late 1970's) with a kit, possibly from Boots, that was a disaster but now we brew from grain, mostly modern heavily hoped beers but also more traditional porters and stouts to satisfy my other son's old fashion taste.
We brew in 20 ltr batches at the moment using SS Brewtech fermenters (we have two) but plan to upgrade our kit this year to be able to brew in 40 ltr batches as we seem to be always running out of beer! Probably to a Grainfather or Brewdevil system.
We don't bottle, but have an old chest freezer converted to a kegerator with four taps.
