Does anyone use heading powder or similar when bottling their all grain?. I wanted to make sure the stout I brewed last weekend will have a decent head after bottling, but don't want a glass full of fizz. Don't know if adding this stuff is sacrilage so comments would be welcome :wha:

Never heard of it. What is it? I will add some carapils malt or even a little wheat for head retention. But usually, it's not a problem even without those.

I'd be interested to hear what's in heading powder.

Yes I have used this before. It was called brewing flour but you can get a liquid concentrate.

No need, IMO - call me a purist, but a decent AG stout (or any beer) should have a good head without the need for any "additives". Sure, you can add grains and adjuncts that promote a good head, as phettebs said. Nice long conditioning time is your friend here; beer needs time to gain all thise tiny bubbles that produce a decent head. :thumb:

Also, make sure you wash and rinse glasses properly ;)
