Have THBC stopping delivering to UK?

I have just got a mail from DPD Ireland saying my THBC order will be delivered tomorrow and no request for additional payment. Fingers crossed.
Me to, but my delivery is on Wednesday. Again no request for any extra payment. The order was for £70 worth of stuff.

I got slapped with a 40 quid import fee. I've emailed Shane, but I'm guessing there's nothing I can do but either return it or suck it up. I'm inclined to suck it up as I want the gear and Brexit isn't HBC's fault (or mine actually, but let's not get overly political :P).
You should not have been charged Irish VAT when you paid THBC as they were goods for export from the EU so you saved 21% there. Then you will have paid 20% UK VAT plus whatever handling fee DPD added on for acting as an HMRC tax collector. Overall it will have been a small loss to you over what the price would have been last year.

On the other hand if you did pay Irish VAT (look at your invoice) then you should complain to THBC.

Ive checked my invoice I was charged VAT at 21% by THBC but nothing after.

The scammers are at it flat out.

Been checking at it says no delivery to the UK. Hope they sort things out soon. Cheers.
I have checked my account with THBC and they have removed the comment regarding not delivering to the UK. My account appears to be back up and running and there appears to be no block on me ordering from them. I live in Scotland. I think that I will keep my future orders to below £100 so as not to attract extra Import Duty.

This article lists some of the ways different couriers are handling the extra costs :
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-55734277Royal Mail, for example, is charging an £8 fee it says "reflects the cost of clearing items through customs and presenting them to Border Force".

Meanwhile, delivery firm DHL says it is charging UK customers 2.5% of the amount paid to clear customs, with a minimum charge of £11.

Mail and freight company TNT is also adding £4.31 on all shipments from the UK to the EU and vice versa.

I won't be buying from THBC until I'm sure I won't have to pay extra. My delivery this week was ordered on 28/12/21 and I didn't pay extra and the invoice stated I had paid Irish VAT at 21%. However I'm not sure what will happen now so will watch this thread for info.

Well, true to their word DPD (Menzies) my grain order has finally arrived from THBC. That is a total of 25 days from placing my order (26 Dec 20). No extra charges incurred which may be down to the order being £70 or that the order was placed before the 31 Dec 20 Brexit deal. Right off to prep for my next brew - A Hokum Stomp clone.

It's because it's under £130 or £135 as those above this will get hit with charges and as far as I'm aware foodstuff is zero but may incur handling charges over a certain weight or price.

I have just copied and pasted this from THBC

does this intimate that they have set up a depot in NI as a means to combat the delivery/import issues ?
