Hi all!

My first brew now in pressure barrel. Very excited. There was gunk at the bottom of the fermenting tub. I think I may have siphoned a little into the barrel by mistake. Will this cause any problems? Also - can the gunk be used for anything? Gardens etc??

Ta!

Don't worry about the gunk Cabesy, we all do it now and then. Give it time to condition and it will be fine.

You can happily put it on the compost heap, or if its a good yeast keep it in the fridge for your next brew

The gunk is just yeast. Almost impossible to rack off a beer without getting some in the keg.

Brilliant for compost also. Wait till you do an all grain, more compost than you can shake a hyrometer at
