Hi Folks,

Just getting up to boil on #2 of the day and realised Ive no goldings!

It's a cally 80/- clone and requires 20g goldings, Ive got brewers gold and northdown to hand. A smidgeon of challenger and some wiliamette too. All the rest are american hops.

What can I sub, any ideas?

Cheers,

Many apologies folks...

To cut it short I found some goldings in a bag at the bottom of the freezer! Sorry for wasting you good folks time... I wasn't even drunk at the time...

DC,

In a way it's a shame you found the goldings.

One of the joys is the improvisation you can do and then appreciate the results.

Musical equivalent of jamming.

How's the consortium going ?

Cheers

Hi RokDok,

In a way your right, part of me wanted to try a little simcoe in the 80/-, just to see how it would turn out. I do like to experiment an my next brew will see me substituting bravo for simcoe in my Punk APA clone. I've not yet spoken to one person who has any experience of using bravo...

The co-op idea has been abandonded I'm afraid. It would have cost 500 quid each (between 4) to get set up and brewing, and would hav meant I would have lost the use of half my garage. However after working it all out I would only be getting slightly more beer than I would be from my current setup (approx 40litres in a brewday). That coupled with people fannying about. Who knows though maybe at some point in future... Thanks again for all the input you gave me when I was costing it out.

As for my post, yes I was drunk when I postd but brew was completed at half past 8 earler on.

Does the pope wear a funny hat? I don't know but he mitre...
