There's also this, a half-way between the Grandfather and the £350-450 ones... Double skinned for some insulation, a beefier pump by the look of things plus a detachable wired controller. Not seen many reviews though, one on a prototype version and one other were all I could find. Maybe @BenParr could give more info as they stock it, I'm tempted but want to get a few more brews under my belt first.

Hi @stripeyjoe thanks very much for the link and tag! :) If you want me to get one out of the box and show you a vid etc would be more than happy to! :) We have both the grainfather and bulldog master brewer in stock!

Oh oh!
That looks great overall though the welds look a tad rough. How would you lift the basket out of the wort for the sparge (or is it lauten?), couldn’t see anything obvious it would hook onto.

It is a bit light on details, the basket looks like a mesh sided affair so not a pipe sort of thing. Perhaps you’re expected to collect runnings in a buckets and sparge through it or do full volume mash? I’ve never used an all in one but I’m surprised full volume isn’t more of a thing, seems easier if you’re recirculating, not sure about efficiency though.

I actually agree with you in terms of the WiFi. I’m pretty sure I would refer to do things manually and just be there watching.

Not having done any brewing other than a few home brew kits, it’s really hard to understand what I need from a unit.
I spent another four hours watching reviews, brew days etc between the Gf and Brewzila last evening.

From my perspective, not having actually used a system, I like the BZ in almost all respects against the Gf.

personally I’ve never even used the program modes on my Hopcat which has the same controller as most other AIO units. Stood on a low bench the controller is easy to use. For all its fancy modes and connectivity the GF still isn’t going to dough in, stir or lift the mash pipe for you so you still need to be there. Use Brewfather and it’s timers will alert you to do the next step. Save yourself a heap of money to spend on ingredients instead.

(Not my units)

Seen a lot of this going on in the Brewzilla Facebook groups. Either people removing the control panel and remounting it elsewhere, or getting a new control panel and having 2. Apparently doesn't take much electronics knowledge apart from a bit of soldering and matching up the wires using a data cable.
