Had a wee thought today.......
I know we've done brew days at each others houses, etc and they're cool. Nice chance for a blether, etc. then I got thinking.......how about a real group brew. What do I mean by that?
Well - I have a system that can output 60 litres and have the capacity (2 new mash tuns sat doing nowt) that could see this increased to a 80 or even 100 litre capacity. Now if we were to recruit another boiler from someone else's system, this could be near 150-200 litre output. Ridiculous, I know.
However, how about a few of us got together and bought the ingredients. Brewed it together and all took away a fermenter full of wort?
It would make it cheaper through bulk buying and also utilise the efficiencies of maxing out a system. Lastly, it would allow non-AG brewers to "buy in" through the shared ingredient purchase and get a barrel of AG beer without the investment in equipment.
Obviously geography will limit this but I know there's a fair few brewers around my area that it might interest.
Thoughts?
