Hi all,

I have made two gallons of ginger beer. It sat in one of my plastic 25L fermenting buckets for a week before I moved it into demijohns.
I've given the FV a good clean and scrub but it still smells of ginger.

What's the best way of getting rid of the taint? Full it up with water and add some bleach then leave it for a day?

Cheers,
Matt

cleaning solution (I use vwp) and water. Leave it for a while giving it a shake when you pass by..
I now do this as standard as it means I have clean FV's ready to go if the mood takes me.......

I've found oxy clean has got rid of any smell or stains in a fv or dj. And for the price its great.

You could try using a solution of soda bicarbonate.

That's the first thing that sprung to my mind also. Best thing for cleaning out curry smells from tupperware so if it can handle that, it can handle anything!
