Hi,

I am relatively new at homebrewing, and I have just done my 4th kit. The kits I have done are as follows:

  • Festival - Golden Stag
  • St Peters - Ruby Red
  • Woodfords - Wherry
  • Milestone - Crusader
I am trying to find a fruity fairly light golden ale kit. My favorite 'off the shelf' ale is Badger Golden glory. I dont really like a strong bitter finish.

Can anyone recommend me a kit?

Regards,

Jamie

Brewuk does a Badger Golden Glory recipe pack.

http://www.brewuk.co.uk/gg-extract-recipe.html

It uses Challenger hops and dried elderflower to get the fruity flavour.

An extract brew is really easy. Just boil some of the extract and the hops in a big pan of water, 6 litres or more, and add to the Fv with cold water and the rest of the extract, stir well and add yeast. Brewuk extract packs are well regarded.

I'd go for a Wilko Golden Ale kit. I did it 4 times in a year just as a stockbuilder dry-hopping along the way just to mask that slight homebrew kit twang.
Since I've switched to AG (albeit BIAB) I've been thinking of getting a AG version on the go so will look at the suggestions above.
