I don't think it's covid fault alone. Although it may be a nail in the coffin along with other factors like high rent buildings in prime real estate locations (e.g building society convertion to banks), there are longer term causes.

It's a bit depressing but should give you a very valid argument for getting out of the house and attending in person the womens institute, men in sheds, scouts, alcoholics anonymous, political action for the inclusion of hedgehogs in road planning or any other group organisation
