Bugger if id known we didnt have to stick to the agreed ingredients I wouldnt have bothered buying any black malt specialy to do this experiment. :D :hmm: :whistle: :rofl:

Has a judge been decided and do we label as normal???

Thinking out loud, blind tasting for the judge would give impartial results :eek: :eek: :eek: :grin:
 
I had a sneaky taste of mine - only bottled on wed, :shock: this is really nice - must brew more beer to stop me tucking into the xmas stash :lol:
 
Did mine yesterday, a stroke of luck that I had just enough black malt at 200g and the OG worked out to a T

Had to protect against them stupid fruit flies, one of the longest brewdays ever, I let the mash recirc way too long and the grain bed went like concrete, a stuck mash.

It was also the first time I used this which made an enormous difference, the clearest wort going into the FV I've ever had.

I made my forum brew yesterday.
Ended up with 43 litres at 1058.......smell was great.
Pitched 2 vials of WLP005 about 8pm last night and they are starting to work nicely this morning :clap:

Some good looking brews there guys......was there a ****y prize?? :lol:
 
Any news on a Judge yet as I need to know who to bribe :D

How do we Label competition bottles??? Are they labeled as we would label normally.
 
Mine is still in the primary.
It stuck at 1030, and I didn't realise until a couple of days ago :oops:
Have had to give it a good rouse to get it going again, but it's fermenting nicely again now thankfully :cool:
 
I may have to pull out of this as im struggling to stop quality control sampling and there wont be any left to send for judging soon :lol:
 
mines bottled and conditioning had a sneaky bottle saturday tastes lovely not much carbonation though hope it gets a bit more

i put mine at the bottom of my beer pile in the spare room so have around 30pints left :party: tasted lovely a week ago :cool:
 
I had a bottle of mne last night and it is drinking really well now. I might have to check again over the weekend just to make sure it isn't too green. :whistle:
