Hi Guys, Ive had another brew day today, got up very early and made a start, a mate popped round towards the end of the boil time and while jibber jabbering to him I forgot to add the Irish moss, is there anything I can add at this stage that will do the same job or will the beer clear if left long enough on its own, its a dark beer with pale chocolate malt, crystal malt and roasted barley added to the Maris Otter

If it's a dark beer then it probably won't matter.
Don't beat yourself up too much, you're not the first to forget and you certainly won't be the last! :)

thank god for that, Ive just looked at the dark beer recipes in GW's book and he doesnt add any to his

I'm well pleased with the outcome, it was spot on 1058 exactly as brewmate said it would be, ended up with 40lt after the sparge which I boiled in 2x20lt batches with the hop quantities adjusted accordingly, ive now got 2 FV's with about 13.5lt in each

The brew has now finished fermenting, done 3 readings with no change, its gone from 1058 to 1007 in 4.5 days ive now got almost 50 pints of a lovely 6.8% dark ale sitting in the garage setteling for a couple of weeks before I put it in a pressure barrel and hide it up for xmas
