I have been driving my Mondeo for ten years and a galaxy for ten years before that, a Ford man through and through (first car was a 87 plate fiesta) . I agree with @MashBag stick with what you know whilst it's going, can't see much trade in value In it and the market is so in flux with electric , hybrids coming out and getting cheaper ...

If you're happy with it then I vote keep it until it's uneconomic to repair/run.
Especially if you have more than 1 car in the household.

Something with a small petrol engine given the pump price?

The cross has a 1.5 petrol but size of the engine is not so important in a hybrid.

You will now turn into a driver that tries to keep the power meter in the green zone to get max MPG as much as possible, few hybrid owners set out to drive that way all of the time but according to the Toyota forum I linked to hybrid owners say it becomes a challenge that never goes away.
