Hi folks,
I need to carbonate a cornie full of APA and was wondering if the following works:

- Chill to 5°C
- Increase pressure to 12-13 PSI as per the carbonation table (http://www.kegerators.com/carbonation-table.php)
- Disconnect gas line and shake keg thoroughly
- Repeat 3 or 4 times

Has anyone done this and knows how long it takes? I've heard various results from half an hour to half a day.
If I'm using the "Shakey shakey" method, should the PSI be a little higher?

No, I am going to be having people around in the next day or so and don't have time to do it in the usual way!

This is what I'd do:
Chill the beer to 4-5 degrees and then connect the gas line.
I usually set the pressure to 40psi and then tilt the corny towards the gas in post and give it a gentle shake....you will be able to hear the CO2 bubble as it hits the beer and then this sound will subside.

I've found it is not an exact science and it is very easy to overcarb.
I give the corny 4 'tilt and shakes' and this seems to work well for me and gives me the carbonation I like.

YMMV
