Has anyone tried brewing with the new Flyer hops yet? Supposed to be good for darker beers, but wondered if anyone could provide some idea of the bittering, flavour, aroma characteristics?

Got one thats been in the fermentor for nearly a couple of weeks now with northern brewer for bittering then flyer at 15 and 1, will be checking gravity some time soon and deciding whether to dry hop with a bit more flyer. I'll try and remember to let you know how I get on :)

How's this one going, chap?

Kegged it the other day, it had about 70g of late hops in the boil and there is not much in the way of hop flavor or aroma. Shoved the last of the packet into dry hop when I kegged it and going to leave for a couple if weeks

How does it compare to say, challenger. I've heard other people describe this hop as super challenger.

Update on this as I cracked the keg a couple of days ago, here is the recipe

3500g Maris Otter (Crisp) (7.9 EBC) 89.1 %
200g Pale wheat Malt (4.0 EBC) 5.1%
150g Crystal Malt - 60L (Thomas Fawcett) (118.2 EBC) 3.8%
80g Chocolate Malt (Thomas Fawcett) (1000.8 EBC) 2.0%
10g Northern Brewer [10.60 %] - First Wort 90.0 min 16.4 IBUs
0.25 pt Protafloc (Boil 15.0 mins)
20g Flyer [10.95 %] - Boil 15.0 min 14.3 IBUs
20g Flyer [10.95 %] - Boil 5.0 min 5.7 IBUs
30g Flyer [10.95 %] - Boil 1.0 min 1.9 IBUs
30g Flyer [10.95 %] - Dry Hop 10.0 Days

Hop aroma and taste is pretty much low to very low, which I was surprised about but none the less the beer is a cracker :D
