Flip top Grolsch type bottles

Does anyone know where I might find affordable bottles? I've seen them for Â£3 each

at my local garden/homeware place but thats about twice what i want to pay. I've seen ones on the Ikea website for Â£1.46 or so, but will these take pressurised drinks like beer/cider/elderflower "champagne".
I know i can use plastic bottles and i'm saving 500ml coke bottles but the presentation/cosmetic look isnt great in these.

) Is available from Tescos at 2 quid a bottle in brown 500ml flip top bottles (Also available online) . . . When you consider that a bottle costs from 1.16 to 1.25 in LHBS you are getting a good quality beer (Dark beer) for 75p . .. its well worth it

and another guy who sells german slender style flip tops 20 in a crate.(http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/schizoid-man0/)

I've bought the ones from Schizoid-man0 and they were great. Also had some empty crates for german bottles I already had. :thumb:0#

If you want cheap, get yourself signed up on Freecycle and keep a lookout or put on a wanted request.

I put on a wanted a year or so back and within the hour had loads of offers. I ended up collecting 3 crates of Grolsch style flip-top bottles for the cost of fuel in the car. Yes, they came with the plastic crates to store the bottles too.

I had to replace the rubber washers on a few of the bottles because they had perrished but at 10 pence each (online HB shop), it was peanuts. :thumb:

I had been looking to get some of these flip top Grolsch style bottles and saw that ASDA had them at Â£1.58 each (full of the fizzy stuff) was tempted to buy a few but then went in Morrisons last weekend (May 17th 2009) and they have them on special at the moment for Â£1 a bottle :thumb: (their normal price is Â£1.99/bottle)

I bought 14 which is all they had and will be going back tonight to see if I can round it up to 2 dozen.

This was the Morrisons in Norwich but I guess it should be a nationwide offer. They won't hang around long at that price.
