Well, my bro is taking the plunge and wants an ale kit. Really im after a good inexpensive one, maybe a coopers? Any suggestions? Nothing too heavy on flavour, just an all round winner :)

Any of the woodfordes kits are brilliant. Your looking about £21 per kit. Coopers are good but you need to buy a kilo of Malt extract to make them brilliant so combined your looking at £20 for a coopers kit. I'd go with a woodfordes Wherry or Admirals Reserve.

I buy from my LHBS. Woodfordes kits anywhere are always around £20. And coopers are also between £13-£14 then when you add £5 for some DME. I don't think I'm getting ripped off. I'm happy to pay £1/2 more to support my LHBS who give me valuable advise whenever I need it!
