Hello all....

On my learning curve..

My first few batches I have bottled. This batch I decided to keg for the first time. All went ok. Just noticed though a very small weep around Tap rubber washer joint...
Will this be ok?
Will it effect beer?
Any advice on when Keg will be ready to drink?
( have gas bottles to use )
How long once first opened will it keep?
( 3-4 days ? )

It's Woodfordes Nelson Revenge, did this time one stage fermentation then added to keg with sugar....

Thank you!

well ive got same kinda keg and i went through the whole thing but basically all should be gd- i started drinking mine about a week after i primed- cos it started leaking air out the emergency release so was done-now is nice and cosy in a fridge with a bit o 15mm pvc tubing and a hollowed out pen for dispensation-if ur really going gourmet im sure ur meant to finish a keg in a month or so and wait that long before tapping but im not that bad YET so i reckon provided u keep it topped up with co2 when its getting low and keep it chilled u can get a good few months outa it

as for the leak it might just be due to the pressure-a pint down the road will prob stop- also they tend to plug themselves with sticky beer but do monitor...

Ok so its leaking from around the tap? I have a king keg, i prime that with 100g of sugar lube all my seals close it up and let it carbonate and condition for 3 weeks before i drink any.

The tap body might just need a slight tighten, but don't over do it. Also the tap lever should be in the 3 0'clock position when looking at it from above as shutting it fully can cause it to weep.
How much sugar did you use to prime the keg?
Brews in a keg will take longer than bottles to condition as beer matures slower in bulk. Once i've kegged my brews i leave them in the warm for a week than somewhere cooler for at least 3 weeks, but there's nothing wrong with taking samples to see how it's doing :drink:
As long as you don't let the pressure get too low (you need to add gas before the tap starts to glug air in) it should keep for several weeks, probably longer but mine never last that long
