See where you’re coming from. I think though I would rather pay the extra and have something that’s slightly easier for me to use. I dare say my hands aren’t as strong as some of you blokes, and also it’s less opportunity for me to spoil the shape of the posts.
Not yet!Have you seen that new film, nightmare at tool station
Ah ok thanks JB, something to consider.I'm not talking about using an adjustable spanner, which if you don't adjust it right will cause a problem. I'm saying buy a spanner the specific size for the keg posts, so there's no chance of rounding the posts.
If strength is the concern then the spanner is easier to use - it's longer than a ratchet handle (my spanner is 28cm whereas my ratchet handle is 18.5cm), so you can get more leverage on it.
I use a ring spanner on mine. Looks like this…@Hazelwood Brewery @DocAnna @The-Engineer-That-Brews what do you all use for yours?
This kind of thing sends me into a spin.
You buy the size you need so if you post is 22mm so is the ring spanner.Ok cool, thank you. So If I buy a 22mm one will that fit the 22mm post or does it need to be a shade larger?

It’s the same as a normal spanner but as you’d guess goes all the way round. This means if you buy the right size it can’t slip, it won’t round-off the angles on the post, and it can’t come off. Strictly this last bit is on the assumption you’re not completely hamfisted!
I’m sure you’ll do great. Just to cover all the bases though, maybe get hubby to video you! Can't promise!

This should do you. Easier taking them off using a ratchet.
Do not buy an imperial socket set or spanners.
When I bought my tools 30 something years ago I bought metric and imperial spanners and sockets. I have never used the imperial ones. Why CC?

You have recommended a 1/2" socket and a 3/8" handle - that will not work!https://www.amazon.co.uk/Silverline...84&hvtargid=pla-476621547527&psc=1&th=1&psc=1

Wouldn't TT need the 1/2" handle rather than the 3/8", to match the 1/2" socket?
