I've just bottled my kveik brown ale, fermented at 28C.
Do I need to maintain this temperature for the bottle conditioning period, or is room temperature OK ?
The beer finished fermenting in 1 week, can I expect it to be carbonated similarly quickly?

I think it ought to be the same temp for conditioning. Expect 1-2 weeks to be properly finished, but that doesn't mean you can't test it😁😁

I usually leave them for 2 weeks but thought the kveik would be quicker...

yeast works quicker when fermenting warmer. Priming is just another fermentation, so as long as you are fermenting/conditioning the higher temps the quicker it will be. Naturally if it gets too warm different strains produce different off flavours but kviek likes 30-40c ideally.

Most of my beers are carbonated within a week of bottling but my verdant dipa took an extra 3 weeks to get rid of the burnt rubber taste.
