Not sure why you'd need the inkbird while you're doing a vigorous boil?

I could plug an IEC lead directly into my kettle element however this isn't recommended from a safety perspective. It can also degrade the life of the plug. It's much better to have a device which is plugged in for the whole brewday and can be switched on and off when needed and can control mash and boil temps.

Well I dropped the desired temp to 17.7 and got 18.3 which I'm happy with now j7st to test this with beer

Thanks for your reply. I understand it goes higher than 70, but the accuracy of ±1c goes, meaning I have to spend time working out what the discrepancy is. Also I'm not sure 99c would be powerful enough for a vigorous boil.

Hi, as Sbond10 reported after used, there's nothing wrong on the accuracy, and it's normal there's ±1c discrepancy. If 99C is not enough, maybe you can try Inkbird PID thermostat+ K sensor, the highest is 1300C with K sensor.

Hi Sbond

I've just received a new 310, and have it taped in position on the FV ready to go!

I'm just wondering if you (or anyone else) has changed the heating and cooling differential? Is the standard 2 degrees about right?

I don't have a fermentation fridge yet, and so the FV is in a room that stays at roughly 18 degrees. I have an aquarium heater submerged in the FV so I will only be using the heating circuit.

Any thoughts on whether this would affect what I set the differential to?

Thanks in advance!

It's up to you really.....bear in mind that if you set it to the default 2 degrees the temp will drop to say 18 (if you set the target temp for 20) before it starts heating....I set mine to 0.5 so it never dropped below 19.5

Perfect - thanks Chuffer :thumb:. I've dropped the differential to .5 and set it off in charge of the heating.

Will keep an eye on it until I'm sure!
