I'm new to the home-brew 'scene' having only recently gotten into it (only started last week!)

The first batch of Cider that I made up, and is currently fermenting, was a kit provided by Youngs.

I wanted to do a little batch as I have a small 5L bucket so I was looking around the forums for a nice fruit Cider recipe and came across this one:

I am going to follow that with the hoping results of getting a nice Cider to take to a friends party on 9th March. I will be posting pictures of my progress at the different instructional stages. I hope you enjoy, and tips and/or advise would be very useful for a novice like me!

Welcome, matt!!

I'm looking forward to the piccies of your cider - I've only tried wine so far myself, but looking forward to branching out ...

I've found it a steep but fun learning curve - with much spilt wine on the way

Will keep an eye out for your ciders ;)

Thanks for the warm welcomes everyone! :D
Here are a couple of images for you, will post some more tomorrow!

At the start of the simmer for around 30 minutes:

After the simmer had finished, left it covered near the open window to cool, no other way to cool it off. The raspberry gave a very nice red colour to the apple juice:
