is this floating stuff in suspension likely to be protein / yeast / or hoppy remains? I have some in my primary fv, and it doesn't look too attractive :sick: Was thinking about waiting for it to drop out in primary, or in a secondary (if that'll work), if not I'll try fining before bottling.

it'll drop down eventually comms, i get it in mine, but after a few days of fermentation finishing, its usually gone down, let it clear and bottle!!

Comms what does the floaty stuff in the FV look like? The cauliflower type floaters that protofloc produces don't sink.

I didn't use any end of boil additives like protofloc, and the bits are small ranging from 1mm x 1mm to about 5mm x 5mm, irregular in shape, and quite flat. Possibly still yeast but not sure. It's been in the fv for 10 days and stopped at 1015 fg.

I'd say that as you drain the FV they will go and stick to the sides, would like to see a pic of your floaters though

mine's just lots of bitty floaters, will try sieving it or failing that, will just sup it up!

well today's the day for giving this a good tasting - very excited for this afternoon - beer, sun, sports and bbq

we gave a mate a small sampling bottle and he tried last weekend, apparently it tastes like super brew and made him sleepy after drinking. Not sure that's particularly what we were after, but for a first go who cares!!

Tasted absolutely amazing!

Nothing like Spitfire, mind, and was pretty cloudy, but was really good.

A couple of mates tried it and were massively impressed, and said they would have been happy to buy it!
