so i didnt prime enough either, theres a fizz, but not a massive amount.... however, yesterday i had my first bottle of this in about a month and a half..... wowwww.... what a difference a bit of time makes.... it tastes soo much better, a lot smoother and the sharp aftertaste has gone..... had to have another this morning when i got in from nights.... will be making more of this and priming with more sugar, thats for sure...

I hope people don't mind if I recycle this thread as it seems like there are a lot of people who, like me, are brewing the coopers aussie lager as their first beer and I think it's good to have all the advice in one place. Mine has been fermenting nicely and as most of the fermentation looks to be over, I'm thinking about bottling it early next week provided that the gravity readings stay consistent. My question is about the bottle temperature. The temp in my house is around 18-19 degrees. Do you think I should come up with some tricks for raising the bottle temperatures or would that be fine. If so, what are some easy, cost-effective ways of keeping the bottles warm?

To be honest mate, my second batch of this is maturing in the cold now but it's really well carbonated after a week at 17 degrees, your temps sound fine. I brewed this one with Muntons enhancer and it's a big improvement, really good beer with a thick, lasting head and really malty flavour :)

This was my first brew as i bought the starter kit from coopers. Nice lager but you have to let it condition, my fault was trying to open them too early and they were not half as good as they are now and as with all homebrew they continue to get better. Only 8 left now from 45 bottles and 5 weeks gone. One point i did notice is that i got a very low alcohol content with this kit, about 2.8% but i guess this was just a rookie oversight. Hey skol is a lager too. :thumb: :drink:

i cant see it only coming out at 2.8% it might be an incorrect hydrometer reading
