There was a 'gusher' thread a while back. Wild yeast can apparently cause it but if the beer tastes ok it's probably over primed.

Ok I think it's uneven priming due to not mixing the beer in the bottling bucket.

I just opened the 330ml bottle that's been in the fridge. It's hardly carbonated - almost no head when pouring and a very gentle tingle on the tongue when drunk.

I've measured a couple of the 500ml and the 330ml bottles and they all have 2 inches of headspace so go figure.

Which seems weird as I bottled the 500ml bottles last, unless most of the sugar solution "sat" at the bottom of the bucket below where the tap was and only got stirred up when I tilted the bucket to get the last bits out...?

Well, I had my birthday BBQ on the weekend and can confirm that there was only 1 other gusher. There are only a few bottles of this left and everyone was really surprised at how well it came out! Going to savour the remaining bottles and maybe think about brewing this again!

My friend who was on the fence about homebrewing is now convinced :)
