Hello Forum I got a quick question,

How long is it ok to keep my batch of Ale in the FV after fermentation is complete and I have a stable SG?

Should i also keep the heater going inside the FV to keep temp at 70-75°F or let it cool during this time ?

I will be bottling but i was hoping to leave it in the FV for about a month to condition as this month is a busy one
for me and i want to deal with it after xmas.

Any information on this would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks. :thumb:

I like to get it off quickly, I hear some people leave it two weeks. The co2 produced protects it providing you don't poke around in there, but i'd rather have it under pressure in a keg to be honest.

When fermentation is finished, give it around a week keeping it warm. Then let it cool for a further week either in same vessel or a clean one, and then move on with kegging/bottling whatever.
Forward planning is a part of brewing....... :D

You should let is cool at this point but 75°F is a bit on the high side.

You generally want to keep the fermentation temperature not much over 68-70° F.

I realize this is not always possible but....
