The Sun is a remarkable heap of ordure!

My favourite was when they attacked the "Bureaucrats of Brussels" on the basis that they were "Interfering with the Traditional British Banger"; and if anyone bothered to look below the headlines The Sun was exactly right and those swine were expecting the UK to change! WOW!

What those interfering "Bureaucrats of Brussels" were doing was insisting that a "Beef Sausage" had to have at least 50% of beef meat in it and a "Pork Sausage" had to have at least 50% of pork meat in it, before it could be called a beef or pork sausage.

At the time, the "Traditional British Banger" could be made with up to 50% Rusk, 40% Animal Fat, 20% Meat Slurry (i.e. the tendons and gristle stripped from the bones of a carcass by high pressure water) and only needed 5% meat to be called a "Beef" or "Pork" sausage.

Until those interfering swine stepped in, some of the "Traditional British Bangers" on sale had only 5% of meat in them and the rest was made up of rusk, fat and slurry!

So was that "Fake News" or was it just "Putting a slant on things."? aheadbutt

Surely NOT the BBC!!

Two headlines in two days:
  1. "Tour d France winner held for assault"
  2. "Hamilton axed from charity over burka tweet"
Go on! Admit it! You were thinking of Geraint Thomas and Lewis Hamilton weren't you!

WRONG!

  1. The "Tour de France winner held for assault" was Jan Ullrich who won the TdF over 20 years ago!
  2. The "Hamilton axed from charity over burka tweet" was some obscure woman called Christine who is married to a UKIP member of the Welsh Assembly!
They grabbed the headlines for me but after a very quick perusal I lost interest in both subjects.

PS

One year the Tour de France passed very near to where we live when we are in France. We weren't there at the time, but on the road where the Tour had passed by someone painted "Ullrich" and the shape of a huge syringe ...

... although Jan Ullrich was never convicted of doping. aunsure....

Exactly.

To misquote someone (was it Wellington?) "There are lies, damned lies and the media."
I doubt that many of the media are that interested in the unbiased and sometimes less interesting truth; they are a business and a business needs to sell their products. Once you start reading their drivel and thinking about it, you can usually see the BS.

And Goebbels was a late starter, Shakespeare rubbished Richard III to curry favour with the Tudors. Or maybe I just made that up.......
