Landlord.
I brewed the following recipe last weekend.
Recipe Specifications
--------------------------
Boil Size: 25.81 l
Post Boil Volume: 23.92 l
Batch Size (fermenter): 23.00 l
Bottling Volume: 21.00 l
Estimated OG: 1.048 SG
Estimated Color: 78.1 EBC
Estimated IBU: 32.4 IBUs
Brewhouse Efficiency: 72.00 %
Est Mash Efficiency: 0.0 %
Boil Time: 60 Minutes
Ingredients:
------------
Amt Name Type # %/IBU
0.20 kg Chocolate Malt (1060.0 EBC) Grain 1 5.7 %
0.20 kg Roasted Barley (1300.0 EBC) Grain 2 5.7 %
0.10 kg Black (Patent) Malt (1280.0 EBC) Grain 3 2.9 %
3.00 kg Light Dry Extract (15.8 EBC) Dry Extract 4 85.7 %
35.00 g Bramling Cross [7.20 %] - Boil 60.0 min Hop 5 26.8 IBUs
20.00 g Bramling Cross [7.20 %] - Boil 10.0 min Hop 6 5.6 IBUs
1.0 pkg Nottingham (Danstar #-) [23.66 ml] Yeast 7 -
All went well. The grains were added to the water as it came to the boil and were pulled out at 70C when the DME was added. Came out a liter short at 21L with an OG of 1.053. It was left to cool over night and yeast was pitched (rehydrated) on Sunaday morning.
Gave it a quick test this morning and it is now down to 1.015. The late hop addition is really coming through and if i brewed it again I would tone it back to probably about 5-10g (and up the 60 min hops to keep the current IBU).
The grain bill
60 min hops
10 mins hops
Filling the FV
