Erlenmeyer flask on Ceramic Hob

I have an Erlenmeyer flask that I have used once before for a starter. When I made the starter, I boiled and cooled the extract in a saucepan and then dumped it in the flask before pitching the yeast. I was going to boil the wort directly in the flask but was afraid that it would crack the bottom. I know these flasks are heat resistant but could I just have put it directly on a ceramic hop?

I would imagine that they are similar to Pyrex in which case you could put it on a gas ring!
They do make glass sausepans, Ive had one.

Cheers, Yes it is made out of borosilicate glass. I am using a electric ceramic hob though not gas. I have seen these on Bunsen burners(naked flame).

I was just concerned the the Cremaic hop may be different?

I dont think ceramic hobs are as hot as a strong blue gas flame, but some ones going to say that there is an infrared element that makes them hotter !!
