I was listening to this this morning, as the others have their own national anthem which they sing at sports events should we have our own?

I am in favour since GSTQ is a British one, and I also find it a bit dull.

The popular candidates always seem to be Jerusalem and Land of Hope and Glory. They play Jerusalem at the Test Cricket and you often hear it at Twickenham in the bands on the pitch.

I think an English anthem would be a great idea and, if one is chosen it should be a huge rousing and inspirational one that can be sung loudly and with gusto by teams and fans alike.

GSTQ is never going to get anyone particular motivated and emotional. Just look at the passion that Flower of Scotland gets into the team and crowd, that's a song about national pride and one that has, in some cases, been a game changer and that wasn't adopted until 1990.

I favour Jerusalem, had it as a hymn at my wedding as it happens although would happily belt out Land of Hope and Glory as well.
