I have calculated the efficiency of my first brew which came out @ 89%. Something is wrong or should it have a decimal point :D

The formula I found online was to multiply the Pale Malt weight by 300 and the other grains by 292 this gave 1023 & 143.66 respectively, total when added together 1166.66. This was divided into the OG of 1035.

The grain bill was:

Pale Malt: 3,410 gms.
Crystal Malt: 270gms.
Wheat Malt: 195gms.
Black Malt: 27gms.

Should all the grains be used in the calculation and is the formula correct.

I don't see any mention of volume in this equation. Perhaps it assumes US gallons, not imperial?

Mashing for 90 mins in coolbox I'm getting similar results, higher if step mashing or with decoction. I'd say it's pretty normal efficiency.
