Just bottled a fruit tea bag wine that’s absolutely delicious! Retained a little sweetness.
10 fruit tea bags, this batch was pineapple and lychee (steeped for 30 mins in around a litre of water)
1250g sugar (id usually max 1100 so this explains the sweetness)
1 mug regular strong tea (3 tea bags steeped for about 10 mins)
1 tsp Citric Acid
1tsp Nutrient
1tsp Yeast (used Young’s yeast compound)
All put in DJ and topped to 4L
Left 2 weeks, then racked onto campden in new DJ and topped to 4.5L
Left another week, then finings added, left 48 hours then bottled. (Could probably leave an extra week and skip the finings to be honest.)
Didn’t take gravity readings but guessing it’s around a 14%
Works out at max £3.00 for 6 bottles
