Double Dry Hop - To dump or not?

I've been double dry-hopping for a while now on hazy style pales.

I always dump the yeast/trub before my first dry hop but was curious if others also dump off the old hops before adding the second dose of dry hops to avoid vegetal flavours etc?

I'm currently dry-hopping on day 7 then do my second dry hop on day 3 then will be crashing for 7 days after that.

How can your second dry hop be four days before the first dry hop - or are your days with relation to the end of fermentation?

Yes counting down to when I start crashing. Think its because this is the way I put it into my Beersmith recipes.
