Has anybody tried making a double concentrated wort then diluted down to final volume in the Fermenter?

My idea is to take the recipie for a standard 23l brew. Double it up and make as per normal with my Biab system, then dilute down to 46l in the fermenter.

I've never done it with those volumes, but it it possible. You'd just need to make sure you've got something big enough to mash the quantity of grain you'd need.

As Leon says that's how I roll (..erm brew). It's called Maxi- Biab. I dont make a double concentrated wort but I do make a concentated wort that I dilute in the FV. I usually make a wort of about 14L-15.5L wort which I dilute down to 23L-25L depending on OG and my efficiency.
When you boil hops in concentrated wort you get a lower utilisation so I used to add a bit more bittering charge (5 IBU) but I've recently discoved that longer boil will counteract this so have gone to 90min boils
