A lone sniper was just about to assassinate Donald Trump at the last moment one of the President's bodyguards spotted him.

He immediately shouted "Mickey Mouse! Mickey Mouse!"

A shot rang out and Trump fell dead.

As his aides gathered round the body, one of them asked the bodyguard why he had shouted "Mickey Mouse"

'I'm sorry" he said "I meant to shout "Donald, duck!"

A lot of votes "for" Trump were actually votes for "anyone not Hillary".

And yet. on 02 April, a Rasmussen’s daily tracking poll showed that 50 percent of likely U.S. voters approved of President Trump’s job performance. Forty-nine percent disapproved.
At the same point in Obama's presidency in 2010, Obama only managed a 46% approval rating.
Trump is now up to 51%.

Expect Trump's approval rating to go even higher as he meets another election pledge by bringing manufacturing jobs back to the US by implementing tariffs on Chinese trade.

You probably think that Trump is a stampeding buffoon on the international stage but he has got North Korea to quit their sabre rattling and engage in productive dialogue without grandstanding it.
There are echoes of Regan and his approach to the Soviets here. Regan ended he cold war, brought down the Iron Curtain and freed hundreds of millions of people but I remember the British press presenting him as a fool too.

Never forget that your opinions are being manipulated through the lens of the British media.

I never thought Trump was a bufoon, unlike Boros Johnson. Approval ratings are interesting ways of looking at how good someone is at their job however, as they are not representative thus not generalisable to the population.

As for N Korea, depending on who you want to believe, their nuclear force was highly exaggerated by the Americans, and in fact it had been a long term plan of the N Koreans based on economics to step back their programme, much like the Russains. Giving too much credit to the wrong people often leads to unrepresentative approval ratings.

Thankfully I don't read the UK press.

Personally, I have kinda disliked the guy since the early 90's. He is without doubt a dick - but better a dick than a c....Clinton.

Much like 99% of Tories I dislike him as a person based on the information I have. Obviously never met any of them, but I cannot hold any positive views about an individual or group so content and steadfast in screwing those very people that they are supposed to serve, so that their personal interests are secure.
