I wanted to get a creamier mouth feel for my first AG and wondered if the above will be ok and if I have to toast them until golden before mashing?

Hi there, not sure myself on this but if you check out big secue on youtube his latest hbw vid was all about using tescos own oats in his latest brew. Might be useful to you.
Cheers!

I think toasting them will add some flavour of some sort (toastyness?) Oats on there own will add the creamier mouthfeel your after. I recently made an oatmeal stout using oats for the first time, not toasted, and it definatley had that creamier mouthfeel your looking for

I ended up adding 100g (was a 1gal batch) of the said oats but half toasted them in the oven. I've deffo got a more fuller, rounder body to the beer but not sure how much the oats added at a small amount.

I'll try a larger amount on my next extract brew as I don't have the pot size for full volume mash/boil
