Hello, i have a question regarding my brew.

I am about to start a beer off in the fermentation bin and once its done, transfer it to a keg with tap.

I watched a video tutorial from www.videojug.com which basically explained to me that the KEG shouldn't be moved and has to have the fermented brew put into it where it's going to be drank.

My question is; can i move the fermentation bin? the reason i ask is because i intend to drink it i.e put it in the keg round a friends house but he is away for some time, i was wondering if i could start the brew where i live and then take it to my friends house when it's done? Or will this spoil it?

The only other brew's i have done before have always been in my house so i have never had to to move it far so i'm just curious to ask?

Many thanks in advance, Andy!

You'll disturb the sediment so it might be a bit cloudy for a bit but it'll settle.

I move mine quite regularly. (or rather SWMBO does when she's cleaning).

My advice would be to move it to the corny keg before you move it around to your friends. If you move the fermenter you will be sloshing around all the sediment from the FV and this will take a long time to clear. At least if you move the keg there will be an awful lot less sediment to get stirred up. Just bring it around to your mates a couple of days before you intend to serve and it should have settled by then.
