Degassing idea

One thought is that I’m a DIYer, but if you use your drill daily as part of your job, it’s probably got more bits & dust etc. on it that mine ever would, so that could be a problem then.

I never thought of that i rarely do any DIY so my drill is like new i guess if you give it a wipe over and maybe blow through any cooling gaps to get rid of any loose stuff you shouldn't have any problems.

I use a plastic jerrycan with a tap in the top - known as the shaky upper container. Rack the wine from the fermenter into this, squeeze it to expel air then close the tap, give it a gentle shake until it reverts to original shape then repeat shaking it a more as it becomes more degassed. Works for me.

Great bit of alternative thinking - I like that idea, but it would mean getting hold of ANOTHER 5 gallon container, which takes up space and would not please SWMBO ☹️
