I'm pouring a 1/3 of a pint of beer I brewed between 2 half pint glasses in order to try and degas it, so I can do a gravity test on it (to see if it's possible I have a wild yeast infection). Is this the easiest way, and how degassed does it need to be before I'll get an accurate gravity reading (using a hydrometer).

Cheers,

you just need it to be flat so the CO2 doesn't lift the hydrometer and give a false reading.
But how will this help with the problem?
Is this because you believe wild yeast may have a different attenuation from your own?

Yes, exactly. I want to confirm that there hasn't been any extra attenuation that would point towards a wild yeast. The pouring from glass to glass for a few minutes worked. Reading taken, and it's still at 1.010, exactly where it fermented out at.
