Decoction mash?????

making lager i havnt got a clue about "decoction mashing" i read it 3 times and still no clue , it seems far easier making English pale ale so help lads if you can cheers :cheers:
 
Basically its a 3 stage mash with varying temperatures the way we do it is start off at 55 degrees in the mash tun for half an hour then add boiling water to grains to raise temp to 55 degrees for half an hour then add boiling water to raise temp to 66 degrees for 1 hour but it depends on type of lager your making :cheers:
 
Don't worry about it as it is not required for practically any malt we can get nowadays.

Just replace 10-15% of any lager/pilsner ,malt in the recipe with Melanoidin malt . . . and mash at 65C.
