We have a narrow humpback bridge near us that you cannot see the other side so it’s controlled with traffic lights. I was stopped at the red light but a cyclist just went through it. Luckily there was nothing coming the other way.
Death by cycle.

I consider myself a fairly considerate cyclist, but I do stand my ground when I'm in the right and I will demand that my safety is considered.
I did take exception to a Jeremy vine post on twitter though. He clearly jumped amber light when he had plenty of time to stop, and then proceeded through the red and argued with a bus, deliberately putting himself in danger when it was completely unnecessary. I copied in London police on that one. He should have been charged.
But the single lane situation bugs me both on bike and car. People don't seem to understand the commitment rule. It's true, that if the cars are parked on the other side of the road, then you have right of way. But only if the other car hasn't committed to overtake. If the other car has already committed, then you no longer have right of way until the other car has completed. It gets tricky on blind corners. But if both cars meet, then the driver who will be least inconvenienced should reverse.
If a car meets a cyclist or a horse then it should be via negotiation. In this situation if it's tight, I always possess the middle of the lane to ensure the car stops. I will then either pass the stopped car if safe to do so, or dismount and tuck in to allow the car to pass slowly and safely. If it's just not possible to pass, and this can be the case, someone has to reverse. If that did happen, I would make a point of not using that road again.
While a lot of cars think they are passing slowly, speed is relative to each party. If it's close, I prefer the car to be stopped, and I will possess the middle of the lane and stop it if it doesn't do so. That is my right in the highway code.
On narrow sections of road, horse riders may ride in the centre of the lane. Allow them to do so for their own safety to ensure they can see and be seen.
Motorcyclists, cyclists, horse riders and horse drawn vehicles may suddenly need to avoid uneven road surfaces and obstacles such as drain covers or oily, wet or icy patches on the road. Give them plenty of room and pay particular attention to any sudden change of direction they may have to make.

A complete waste of taxpayers money
all these cars should be towed to a compound, and on the other side how does a blind person or someone on a dizzy scooter cope, i am no lover of cyclists but but needs to be sorted it happens country wide
I blame those Victorian town planners, didn't they realise that by 2025 the population would have grown to such an extent and that every household would have at least three cars.
