As a London cyclist this how you HAVE to cycle. I heard this 'phrase' a long time ago and have ridden that way ever since.

It is weird how some cyclist somehow assume that a bike vs car wont always end up being car 1 bike 0.

It was 2-1 to the skoda fabia that pulled out on me from the left of a mini roundabout - My left buttock took a big bang and dented his bonnet (1-1) but my bike got mangled. But totally agree that you have to view every vehicle on the road is out to kill you.

Right..now we've established it's the cyclists fault we should now do a "what should have happened" ending...
Mine...
The chap on the motor bike should have stopped and ran over and give the cyclist a good kicking just to jolly well serves him right.

I think it's obvious to most people that the cyclist is at fault. It was a really stupid thing to do.

But what about legally?
Would it be different if it was a lorry?
If it was a lorry, then he would be making an illegal left turn, would not have had his siren on or blue lights. The reason this cyclist was at fault was because it was an emergency services vehicle obviously on an emergency.

As a non London Cyclist and non city cyclist I treat ever driver like they are out to kill me because even where I live on almost every ride I have some idiot who is either distracted by a phone, close passes too close and too fast, thinks they are entitled to kill you to save 3 seconds off their journey etc etc.
However I guess some just don't have that self survival instinct, especially all the new cyclists who have sprung up due to the Pandemic

As a cyclist (of the trousers tucked in socks variety)
Looking at clip, I would say cyclist went too soon and didn't give himself time to see the fire engine indicator.
Its why you should never attempt to 'filter' past a lorry unless you have an entire lane

He is also the wrong side of the solid white line, but with the roadworks there - he may have just been 'dumped' off a cycle lane

No, clips is for vicars on pashley bikes.

But for the sake of fashion, I do avoid wearing my "christmas socks"

I once saw a vicar cycling with running shorts over his trousers. I couldnt for the life of me work out why a vicar would wear the full get up (dog collar etc) and wear cycling shorts over his troos. Until it was pointed out to me that it was to stop the arse on his trousers getting shiney from the polishing action of the saddle :laugh8:

I would say yes as the sign said no left turn, obviously the emergency services can ignore that.
