Just grabbed myself a copy of Brewing Britain: The Quest For The Perfect Pint by Andy Hamilton on Kindle as it's currently 70% off, making it £2.99.

I've had a quick flick through, and seems a good book, with a bit of everything in there. Bit more than your average brewing book, as discusses gardening for beer, good kits for various styles, along with recipes for both extract and all grain for some popular styles. I enjoyed reading the bit I've read so far too.

No idea how long it'll be £2.99 for. I'll give a more thorough review once I've read more of it. I should think though that it would be especially good for somebody literally brand new to brewing for sure.

Ahhh, well you see, you obviously caught it whilst it was on an even better sale, that'd be it for sure. ;)

I ordered a paperback of one not on sale at the same time too, hoping it's as good:-

Brewing Porters and Stouts: Origins, History, and 60 Recipes for Brewing Them at Home Today by Terry Foster

Seems to be of a similar type, lots of discussion about the history etc, then going on to discussing actually brewing them. Not seen it yet though as it's due to come tomorrow some time.

You may gather from this that I have developed what is best described as pale beer fatigue of late. Just not enjoying them any more at all, getting back into my preference for darker beers once again. Plus heh, never hurts to expand the old brewing library a bit more. ;)
