Crafty Fox Electric Brew Kettle

I saw these for sale, and they seemed new. Has anyone had experience of them?

Looks like a generic pot with laser engraving and an inkbird.

Try pricing up the separate parts from brewbuilder.

I used a inkbird 308 with my peco which has the same element as this and it gets hot as hell. I think its only rated at 10 amps (i could be wrong) it would be cheaper to go els where

Just noticed the mechanical stat on the fox pot. It’s a good fail safe if you think you need it.

I think you are correct Alside I had a peco too(still have) and eventually the plug leads get that hot they melt and when I spoke to the supplier they said that it was not possible to get 13Amp rated leads in the uk anymore as the old style kettles which used these style of leads are virtually extinct for the newer more modern kettles that sit on the connection plates. That is why the leads melt eventually and even people selling the so called hot leads are only 10Amp as is the originals supplied with Peco's etc.unless somebody knows different I trawled the internet for a 13Amp plug and nobody had one

The 308 is only 10 amps aswell and the element is 13 amps. I use a pid setup but i have also moved on from the peco to 3kw 40l buffalo urn

You can still get some marketed as 13A but I believe the IEC 60320 standard for the connectors has always had a maximum rating of 10A. Once place where the can be confusion is between a C13 and a C15 connector (the C15 has a notch below the earth connector) the C15 is high temperature rated, the C13 (commonly used for computer equipment) does not and is only rated to 70 degrees.

No one should actually be selling them as 13A rated as the connectors are only designed for 10A, that said the lead you have linked to should have a higher temperature rated connector and the H07 cable is also a higher temperature rating, however, 1mm cable is only rated for 10A.

It should be less prone to melting than a 70 degree rated cable, but the best option is to only utilise 2.4kw elements as that would be within the cable and connector ratings.
