Now using cornies. Was wondering how high to fill them. I filled them quite high on my first effort and wonder if there was not enough space left above the beer as the psi gauage ran up to 20 very quicky. Will this not alow the beer to carbonate very well?

I fill them with as much beer as I have. :-)

I've had them right up to CO2 in tube and have never had a problem carbing up. I don't know that I'd submerge the CO2 tube just out of fear that I'd somehow manage to suck the beer up into the gas line!

I run mine to just over the bend at the top of the keg. Don't worry about the C02 it'll get into the beer anyway you'll just have to keep topping it up until at the required level. Just make sure there's some room below the gas in dip tube as you don't want to have to strip a reg down if beer back flows into it
