Made a coopers lager kit up last week, it started at 1030 before adding yeast, at around 22 degrees.
Didn't get much of a cake on it just some froth and smaller deposits of cake around the edges of the lager top, it bubbled for about three days continually, then just stopped. It as an aroma of baking bread mixed with a lager type smell.
I checked it today and it read 1000, if my maths is correct thats about 4% or so by volume?
I purposely made the kit slightly short to the 40 pint mark (actually around 34) and added the same amount of sugar as if it was for a 40 pint brew, it looks the right colour, if a little cloudy but that will change i believe
My question is - is this a little short on alc% or is it there or there abouts?
If so is there anyway to up it or is it a case of keg it wait and enjoy as is.
Thanks.
EDITED TO CHANGE MY CALCULATION :ugeek:
